The brickwork and the tiled roof of the Monastri Katharon at Anogi had recently undergone renovations when the photograph was taken.

Significance

The Monastri Panagia Kathariotissa is the only monastery on the island of Ithaca and it is possible to see all over the island at a height of 556 metres from the south-east side of Mount Niritos.

Physical description

A coloured photograph the upper level of a rich building with bare grape vines growing along the low fence. Potted plants and a large tree are in front of the building.
