Historical information

A photograph of a fund-raising procession from 1922. The now politically incorrect use of black face by the participants and the naming of the card has been included on Victorian Collections as representing the values of the period.

Significance

The subject matter and original description is interesting as a reflection of social values by white Australians in the 1920s.
