In a letter accompanying the donation, the donor writes "I am enclosing a photograph ... I have now established that Emma Murray has a daughter Alma who was also a librarian and probably took the photo."

Significance

A rare image of the Kew Library in Walpole Street after it had been renovated. The Library was situated beside the Town Hall.
