Stencil - YAPAK TIFTIK

Historical information

This stencil was used as a wool classification stamp for the transportation of wool bales. YAPAK TIFTIK is the Turkish words for describing differing types of wool. Yapak means sheep wool, Tiftik means goat wool. Classification stamps like these had to be approved by a Wool Classier and described the quality and contents of wool inside the bale.
