The handwritten date 1862 is incorrect. The actual date is most likely to have been between 1873 and 1878. Buildings depicted in Grey Street were not completed till 1873, while the southwestern corner of Grey and Fitzroy Streets remains a paddock, the first building on the site going up in 1879.
