Historical information

The drinking fountain is located in Catani Gardens, St Kilda. It was a gift to the City of St Kilda by Sali Cleve, a prominent local resident. It has aesthetic significance as a rare example of the Beaux-Arts style and is the only known public piece in bronze by noted architectural designer and artist Charles Adam Irwin.
