Note by T.H. Kneen 19 November 1991, "Canteen & Recreation Room built by P.W.D. (Public Works Department) with funds provided by Burnley Horticultural College Ladies' Committee (in 1962?). The paving was carried out by students under direction of George Grumont." (Mechanics, Carpentry and Building Construction).
