Historical information

The Royal Mail Hotel was established in Bay Street in 1872. Around 1986 it became Roosters by the Bay, then the Elephant and Wheelbarrow. In 2003 it was named The Local.

Part of Ron LAING's collection of photographs recording Port Melbourne over a thirteen year period. Donated to the PMH&PS by the photographer.
