The Victa company was founded by Mervyn Victor RICHARDSON in Australia in 1952 initially to manufacture lawnmowers. This badge was on the back gate of a former shop in Princes Street, Port Melbourne. The owner, Victor, salvaged the badge, painted it green to match his house and used it as the 'nameplate' for his residence.

Built c.1897, the pumps drain the larger Port Melbourne area to Port Phillip Bay. It was identified that the pumps were at the end of their serviceable life & would need to be renewed.
