Historical information
Donated to the PMH&PS by Kevin Stanes, the last Port Melbourne bus driver to retire from the Government Transport Services
Physical description
Framed listing of all drivers, conductors and other staff whose name appeared on the Yard Sheet on the last day of operation at the Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board Bus Depot at Bay Street Port Melbourne on 31 July 1966. This depot operated from 1937 to 1966. (Kevin Stanes - the last Port Melbourne bus driver to retire from the Government Transport Service - has described this listing as an "Honour Board", but this is accurate only to the extent of honouring all those employees of the Depot during it's 29 year history.)
Victorian Collections acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands
where we live, learn and work.
