Wilkinson was awarded the distinguished flying cross in March 1944 and tragically killed in action over Germany also in 1944. See also 237 and 240.

Significance

Newspaper notice advising Flight Lieut. J H Wilkinson previously reported missing now presumed to have lost his life whilst on air operations over East Prussia on 30 August, 1944.
