Born in Sydney in 1936, John Pointon is a modern traditional painter, working in oil, watercolour and pastel. Mainly self-taught, he studied at East Sydney Technical College for a year. He has worked in commercial art and advertising, and has exhibited in Sydney, Brisbane and Surfers Paradise, as well as in San Francisco, USA.
