Painting, John Sheehan, 'On Lake Mungo', 2005

Artists statement

"A key concern of my art is the investigation of colour. In both oil painting and watercolour, I use concentrated pigments. This is imperative in achieving the highest intensity of individual colour. Also, and most importantly, when mixing it allows the greatest dynamic range for ‘colour space’ – the depiction of form and space, light and dark through colour." - John Sheehan
