The reproduced photographs are of Ned Kelly, his family, associates and Sergeant Michael Kennedy whom Kelly Gang killed in 1878.

Significance

The Kelly Gang, their family and sympathisers were notorious in the late 19th Century Australia. The collections of pictures showcase members of the Kelly family and Sargent Kennedy who was killed by members of the Gang. This collection of photographs is part of the Burke Museum "Kelly album" which includes a significant collection of photographs and artefacts connected to Ned Kelly and the Kelly Gang.
