The photograph depicts a large crowd of adults standing in front of the Beechworth School.
The Beechworth School was built in 1875, designed by architect Henry Bastow. It was among other large Education Department schools that were being established around the State at that time.
It is still used today as the current Beechworth Primary School.
Significance
The photo is significant as the Beechworth School building is part of the establishment of Beechworth as an administrative centre in north-east Victoria.
