Significance

Provides information about the appearance of Sturt St Ballarat, looking from the Town Hall. Shows the topography of the area, along with many buildings, including the London Chartered Bank of Australia (later the Commonwealth Bank), the Unicorn Hotel, J. Dodds Bucks Head Hotel, road works in Bridge St, Albion House Drapery, Bryce & Chalmers Produced Merchants, a fenced central median strip and two horse-drawn carriages parked in Lydiard St.
