There are three maybe four cable trams in the view. The photograph notes the St Patrick's Cathedral (consecrated in 1897), the German Lutheran Church, Government offices, Treasury Buildings, Government House in the far distance, St Peters Church, and the Victorian Parliament building. The photo looks along Gisborne and Macarthur Streets.
