Historical information

The Kew Festival was initiated in 1974 by Cr Gerry Petrie. At each festival, members of the Society would display items, typically from the collection. Typically, exhibitions were themed. While they were mostly held at what was to become known as the Phyllis Hore Room of the Kew Library, some exhibitions were held in the Kew Civic Offices or Kew Civic Hall (from1987 Kew Library).

Physical description

Illustrations of buildings, people and early days in Kew attached to a display board, viewed by a members and visitors. The section Houses for Sale includes photos on the back of real estate plans in the collection, proving that they were held by the Society before 1976.
