Used by General Electric Company of the USA to show that they manufactured the controller. Have been worn and "bashed" with possibly a controller key. One has been stamped "686" or "989".

Used from Hawthorn depot in the time recording Bundy clocks that were located around the MMTB system. Related to the driver's run number. Used until the closure of the Hawthorn tram depot in 1965.
Demonstrates a Bundy time recording clock key.
Key - or Bundy Clock Key - brass, rounded head with drilled hole stamped "Tramways" with a steel section that controlled the action of the recording clock and provided the means of stamping the number "H5" onto a paper tape.

Used on VR Sandringham Black Rock trams as part of the destination setting mechanism - told the driver or conductor what the destination was set to. Shows the destinations of: Depot Black Rock Royal Ave Melb (Melbourne) Sandringham
Demonstrates a plate that would have been attached to tramcar as part of the destination box mechanism.
Round plate or disc, white front, lettered in black with four drilled holes. Two copies held.
Has five destination names painted in black.

Used on motor vehicle/truck chassis supplied by Sam Cheney, see reference. Likely to have been attached to a vehicle that the MMTB purchased under contract.

Used on trams that ran out of Glen Huntly Dep;ot to indicate to traffic staff, the tram run or service number.
Demonstrates the MMTB method of indicating to traffic staff, the trams run number.
Circular steel plate, with the numerals "8" and letter "GH" cut into the plate with two slotted holes on the top .
Has numerous pencil marks on one side.

Shows a cross section through the Museum Station under La Trobe St (later Melbourne Central), showing trams, stairs, trains of the then new underground station. Published by the Melbourne Underground Rail Loop Authority and Ministry of Transport, late 1980. The station was opened in Jan. 1981 see reference. Note the Z class trams with incorrect doors given the trolley pole and silver or Hitachi trains.

Demonstrates the type of flags that were made for use on Melbourne trams during the late 1980s.
Set of 12 flags made for use on tramcars - unused - nylon woven fabric and printed on various coloured cloths. Sewn with a loop at the left hand end to enable a wooden dowell to be fitted and secured and flown on a W class tramcar.

Used by the MMTB Supply Department for photograpy. Based on the wikipedia reference and the markings on top of the front face of the camera, made prior to the Second World War. Camera takes 120 film.

Receipts contained within the Benson and Hedges tin of the early 1950s noting it is by appointment to HM King George V are: 1 - Receipt for a ladies cycle - 9 pounds - dated 2/11/1957 2 - MMTB clothing docket for a coat - size 6 3 - Receipt on MMTB letterhead and docket - payment of Tramway Benefit Society subscription - dated 3/12/1956 - received at Preston Revenue office 4 - Receipt for 170 pounds - payment for a Chev sedan car with a Victorian 3d duty stamp, dated 13-4-53 5 - Receipt for payment of 4/6, Ezyart Co of Reservoir showing a balance of 1pound and 10 shillings - hire purchase? - dated 21/9/1950 6 - Receipt from Bruce Small Pty Ltd for payment of 15 pounds, a/c Bicycle finance - with a Victorian 2d duty stamp, dated 8/4/1952 7 - Interim receipt for 5 pounds from the Lalor Consumer Co-op dated 26-9-1950 At the time Mr Yoemans lived in Gratwick St Lalor.

Also provides information on Sick Pay, Dispensary books, contributions, benevolent funds, workers' compensation schedule for 1946, Has in the rear the various schedules.

Ray Roberts commenced with the MMTB in 1961 at South Melbourne depot. Born at Reefton NZ. Worked as a connie for 33 years. This volume has many personal notes on his work, his colleagues and events that affected the tramways. Includes many photocopies of newspaper articles. See also items 639 and 6719 for other volumes.

Information document about The Met, its services, forward plans, trams, trains, buses. Includes maps showing where upgrades were planned, including roads, and electrification of rail lines. Has a forward by Kevin Shea the Managing Director of The Met. Undated, late 1980s, based on the text with some dates. Has a photo of B2 class tram No. 2005. Notes the completion of the Hong Kong project in 1988.

Report prepared by the Tramway Board, the intermediate body between the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Co. (MTOC) and the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board (MMTB), examining the status of the special work (points and crossings), curves, depot entry tracks and other worn tracks for wear. This report looks at the northern half of the cable system. Prepared May 1916 with a second inspection during July 1916. Provides detailed layout drawings of each junction, crossings with other cable lines, railway tracks, curves, depot entry, and locations where cable pick up points were - a "wiggle" in the track.
