Photo of a cable tram set - at the corner of Collins St and Spring St. The saloon trailer is No. 73. The grip car is yet to be fitted with stanchions on its sides and does not have roof mounted destination signs on either vehicle. The trailer car is in the original company livery. In the background are the Victorian Government Treasury Building along with No. 1 and 5 Collins St, the facades of which remain in Collins St.

Photo possibly soon after the cable line opened on 2-10-1886.
