Myttons was an engineering firm with premises in South Melbourne and Port Melbourne. They made objects as diverse as cutlery sets to sinks and larger industrial stainless steel products.

In September 1947 thousands attended pre Night Trotting Trials at the Port Melbourne. Speedway that was specially revived for that purpose after laying idle since 1941. After the first Night Trotting meeting at the Melbourne Showgrounds in November 1947, the Speedway closed once again
