Calnin expressing puzzlement at the official and public response to the Society's efforts to establish its tourist tram route near Wendouree Parade. He contrasted this to the enthusiasm in Bendigo. Used to suspend a tramway contact wire from catenary wires, or directly from a span pole. The contact wire is placed between the two halves and clamped in place by fastening the screws.
