Inscriptions & markings

On rear of photo in blue ink. "Ballarat: "K.S. Kings No. E (x)(1) Copyright reserved" and "Victoria commemorated the centenary of the discovery of gold in 1951 with various exhibitions and celebrations. The SEC decorated their Ballarat No. 23 as shown and painted it, appropriately gold. On the rear of the 6" x 4" print held in AS Box 78, hand-written wording reads: Ballarat. No.23 (ex Adelaide), as decorated and illuminated for Centenery of Discovery of Gold (1851-1951). 23/8/51. Depot.

This view was taken inside the tram depot and shows the construction of the former horse tram shed."
