Small item about the BTPS's three legged cat and the story about the loss of its leg. Of some importance to those who worked at the time.
Newspaper clipping, from The Courier, 21-8-1984, from the Tuesday Column, titled "Curiosity maimed the cat" , about the BTPS's three legged cat. Features a photo of the car on the front bumper of tram 38. Notes the story of the loss of the leg.
The photograph shows SEC Ballarat tram Nos. 32 on-site at the proposed Maryborough Chamber of Commerce "Wildlife" park. This did not proceed. The photo is most likely taken before a roof was placed over the tram. The date and Photographer are unknown. The tram was acquired by the BTPS in 1986.

Black and white photo of ESCo No. 12 outside Wendouree Parade depot, post the 1912 installation of Motorman's windscreens. Both blinds rolled up. Has a roof advertisement for "Carter & Werner Opticians" and a step ad for "Eureka Cos. BO Punch". Seat backs face passengers to sit on the outside of the tram., that is have yet to be relocated to face inwards only. For other copies of this photo see item 757.
Yields information about the appearance of one of the Museum's tramcars at the time of fitting windscreens and demonstrates the evolution of the ESCo's tramcars, and advertising.

Photo of Geelong electric tram No. 11 - crossbench tram, taken in the same location as Reg Item 4316, following conversion from a trailer in Corio Terrace, now Brougham St. Has the driver and conductor standing at either end of the tram wearing their uniforms. Has the destination of "Newtown", 4345.1 - Black and White print contained within the Wal Jack Bendigo and Geelong Album, see Reg Item 5003 for more details. Added 7/8/2013. Tram line up at the depot with the same personnel (Item 9235), in formal poses in each photo. Geelong Tramcar No. 23 lit up for the coronation of King George VI, May 1937. Globes forming the letters "GR" adorn the side of the saloon and many Union Jack flags decorate the car.

Stages in the construction of one of the two Birney Safety Cars, imported from the J G Brill Company of Philadelphia in kit form in 1924, and assembled in the area formerly occupied by the buses. In the background of Item 9237 is the trailer purchased from the North Melbourne Electric Tramway Company in 1924. Its number in the order in which Geelong cars were acquired was 13 (the Birneys were nos. 14 and 15) and it was eventually converted to a track scrubber car in 1926. It never carried the number 13 but was advertised for sale as such at the closure of the tramways in 1956. See associated Items 9231 and 9232.

Geelong Tramcar No. 18, freshly painted, in Corio Tce. with Strachan & Co's wool store in the background. The car has been converted for one man operation but retains the MESCo's double lineouts that were replaced by single yellow lines in the 1940s. It is likely that the photographs were taken to display the conversion in 1939. See also Item 9242.

Possibly a Motorman in winter coat (as there are no lapel badges). SEC type numbers are on the latter two hats. The Conductor badges on coat lapels and 5 button coats must have been retained by the SEC for a while. The date of these photos would be c., 1930.
