Significance

Yields information about the day to day nature of the operations in Ballarat, especially derailments at points of maximum traction bogie trams and the way people behaved at such times.

Physical description

Black and White photograph of Ballarat No. 34 derailed, Sturt & Drummond St corner (south side), causing disruption to tram services. Photo published by The Courier 20/7/1960, published on 21/7/1960. Three single truck trams are banked up behind the tram. Note the lady passengers remained on board while the Gentlemen watched from the street in their overcoats.



Tram has two Admiral roof advertisements, advertising Televisions (TV), about the time of the introduction of TV into Ballarat.
