Historical information

Photograph of Geelong No. 16 at the Chilwell terminus 23/6/1949, with the J. Cahill Milk bar, shop in the background. Would appear the driver / motorman has just entered the end to drive back into town. Both poles are still on the overhead. Tram has the destination of Chilwell.
Originally thought that the photo was by Ken McCarthy, via Bill Parkinson - see email from Greg King of 13-9-2018, but on locating the negative from the Wal Jack collection, received by Keith Kings, record photographer revised. See item 9050 for a print with additional details.
i1 - digital image as received.
i2 - scan of negative at 3200dpi added 18/6/2020.
