Historical information

Item used to pick up lunch orders from a nearby food outlet and deliver to the SEC Wendouree Parade tram depot - sandwiches, pies etc for the depot workers.

Significance

Demonstrates a method of transporting pre-ordered lunches from a nearby shop to the Wendouree Parade Ballarat Tram Depot.

Physical description

Box or tray made from wood, plywood, strengthened with nailed aluminium corners and lettered "Tram Depot", with an accent over the O' with gold paint within a black outline for each letter, Carry holes have been cut into the short ends.
