This calendar of early Melbourne scenes was produced in 1938 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the firm in Melbourne. The size, layout and images were a copy of the original calendar produced in 1863. In 1938, the company's premises covered an acre in Bay Street, Port Melbourne and Charles TROEDEL (1835- 1906) called himself 'The Father of Lithography in Australia".

Nicholas TAAFE (nicknamed 'Nick') lived at 34 Williamstown Road with his brother of Garrett Gerald TAAFE. The TAAFE family included Martha TAAFE nee GILMORE, her sister Ellen 'Nell' VALE, and Mary Genevieve VALE, Bridget BENNETT nee TAAFE, Aileen CAMPBELL nee TAAFE. Gerald died in 1935 aged 53 and his wife, Martha died in 1974 aged 92.

William PENTLAND arrived in Sandrisge in 1864 and set up his own coach building business in 1880.The firm was located between Ingles & Raglan Streets on the east side of Crockford Street. As well as coach building - and later motor body building - the firm were wheelwrights and blacksmiths.

John William COOPER landed at Liardet's Beach in late 1852. A builder by trade, he settled in Sandridge and was active in creating Sandridge as an independent municipality. His was Elizabeth HARRIS.
