This trophy was awarded to A. Anderson, J. Scott, E. Ellen, and F. Lloyd from the Beechworth Brigade, who competed in the United Fire Brigades Jubilee Demonstration of 1887. They achieved first place in the Alarm and Disabled Hose Reel category. The trophy was presented to them at Melbourne Town Hall, where fire brigades gathered for the prize distribution following the demonstration.

The 1887 demonstration took place in the Friendly Societies Gardens along the Yarra River, approximately where AAMI Stadium stands today. It was part of an annual event, and the 1887 demonstration was the most successful since its inception.

Physical description

Elaborate metal trophy with a woman in a flowing gown atop. The base features outward-curled feathers, while the handles are styled as birds. The trophy is also engraved with intricate filigree patterns.
