Located in the leafy, historic suburb of Quarry Hill, Carpenter Street was originally known as Cemetery Road. It developed alongside Bendigo’s gold rush and is now celebrated for its well-preserved, grand 19th-century architecture, prominent historical residents, and significant early Victorian-era homes.

The street initially served as Cemetery Road before transitioning into Carpenter Street. It quickly evolved into a desirable residential precinct located just south of the city center.
