Historical information

The Viet Cong were extremely resourceful and would make items from whatever was available. This improvised lamp, known also as a trail lantern, was designed to burn any salvageable fuel. It provided sealed storage of the fuel in an easily portable form. A large leaf was often used to focus the light forward to illuminate a track.

Physical description

Glass bottle with metal collar and lid connected with a metal rings and chain. Has a wick.
