Historical information

On 30 April 1975, the Communist forces of North Vietnam occupied Saigon. President Dương Văn Minh ordered South Vietnam's army, the ARVN, to surrender unconditionally. Five generals of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) committed suicide rather than surrender to the Communist forces.
