During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam in 1968, the war correspondent Frank Palmos and four other colleges were ambushed in Saigon by a squad of Viet Cong. His four colleges were killed; but by playing dead Palmos alone survived. These killings of unarmed civilians attracted worldwide publicity.
