In the midst of war's cruelty and hardships, this combat doctor showed creativity in his work, life, and in the resistance struggle. A military doctor at the front must do everything: He grasps the scalpel to make incisions, the shovel to dig forifications, the hoe to raise food, the rifle to fight, and the pen to advance medical theory.
