Vietnam Wives is a profoundlly moving book on the phychological and social consequences of war for families; a "must read" for anyone interested in the realities of war. It should be required reading for all politicans. There are lots of helpful suggestions for wives at the end.
For many years it was widely accepted that American political and diplomatic pressure was the reason for Australia's entry into the Vietnam War. However, top secret documents from the period indicate that: Australia had volunteered the use ofcombat troops some time before the decision was announced in April 1965.

Bill McMahon (Left) served with 1st Communications Zone Postal Unit 1969-70.National Serviceman Graeme Owens (Centre) served in Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps 1968-69. Ray Harvey (Right) served with the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps 1968-69. This game of Australian rules was played in Saigon in July 1969.
