Catpain Gerald J. Greven was sitting outside his hootch at the Special Forces camp outside An Loc on night early in May 1969, when he saw three rotating beacons pass by overhead heading west toward the Cambodian border, only a few miles away. Minutes later, large flashes appeared on the horizon.
