Gravel Hill Primary School No. 1566 replaced the Sandhurst School. It was designed by H R Bastow, the chief architect of the Education Department and was opened in 1875 at 65-71 Mundy Street, Bendigo.The school closed in 1992 and the site was taken over by the Salvation Army.
