The State Savings Bank of Victoria transformed an area of Fisherman's Bend by creating Garden City. This 1927 pamphlet described the area and outlined the loan conditions. A small range of building designs had been developed based on designs used in England and Scotland for workmen's homes.

The Victa company was founded by Mervyn Victor RICHARDSON in Australia in 1952 initially to manufacture lawnmowers. This badge was on the back gate of a former shop in Princes Street, Port Melbourne.
