This photograph shows the Linton Street oval in Moorabbin in the early 1960's before it was redeveloped to become the home ground and club headquarters of the St Kilda Football Club
Significance
The arrival of the St Kilda Football Club to Moorabbin was a significant event in the social and commercial development of Moorabbin. The presence of a VFL football team in the community created a sense of identity and belonging for many.
