Clipping from a newspaper, January 1990 titled "Mobile Homes", advertising in a humorous fashion the sale of Melbourne's tram, then in a blockade in the city. Notes that scratch tickets will be required and gives the name of a then Victorian Government Minister "J Kennan". Has normal real estate ads on rear.
From the Melbourne Times?? who used to do such a thing in the first issue of the newspaper each year.
The photograph shows cable, trailer 383 in Bridge Rd Richmond inbound to the City about to cross the Church St cable tramline. G. Sterling & Sons building in the background. The building remains and in 2024 is a Commonwealth Bank. Possibly 1910s.

The photograph shows a cable tram set, trailer No. 129, in Elizabeth St at Bourke St. Alf Twentyman has written on the rear "Brunswick car 129 in Elizabeth St, North Melb car approaching, Sometimes 1890s.", with the Post Office alongside. Two heavy horse-drawn drays are also in the view.

News Release from the Minister for Public Transport Alan Brown, dated 18/11/1993 - about the future of the W class tram, keeping at least 51, the delivery of the B class tram, and keeping a further 50 for supplementary service. The Herald Sun item by Damon Johnston quotes the release and Alan Brown, Michael Norbury, Paul Mees of the PTUA, Lou Di Gregorio of the Union. Notes the proposed expenditure of $200,000 on each of the trams to be kept. Also has an item of British tourist Will Bright about the use of W class trams and his thoughts along with a photo - written by Anita Quigley.
