St John Ambulance Brigade in 1099 the Order of St John of Jerusalem began. Both men and women nursed on a large scale. Both the Knights and Ladies were pledged to the service on mankind. Ther Emblem the eight pointed white cross is still worn by members of the St John Ambulance Brigade.
