The Queen and Prince Phillip arrived in Australia on 3rd February 1954 for a two month tour of the country. In this time they visited all capital cities except Darwin and visited 40 country towns.
Royal Winton china is made by Grimwades Limited in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The company was founded in 1885.

Physical description

Royal Winton China Plate commemorating Queen Elizabeth II visit to Australia. Cream China with Portrait of the Queen framed in a wreath of green leaves, flags and gold ribbons topped with crown. Edges heavily patterned and gilded.
