Historical information

On 24th July, 1971 the titles of the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Station were 'handed over' by the Governor of Victoria, Sir Rohan Delecombe, to a committee of management consisting of five koori and two white men. All adult residents on the station to be share holders and the property can not be disposed of without their unanimous consent. Photo shows visiting Aboriginal dancer, Sir Rohan addressing the gathering and also the Chairman of the Trust, Mr Charlie Carter, receiving the Titles.
