It has been claimed that Vogt printed many of Bulmer's negatives without acknowledgement when he purchased his studio. ('Gippsland in Focus', by Squires, Barraclough and Clothier)

Physical description

Black and white postcard of Barkes Store. Built in 1893 by McKnockiter Bros, the extensive weatherboard store was designed by Harry French. General store, grocery and bakery were managed by William Barke, brother John managing the clothing and fancy goods. Horse and cart in picture, Post Office in background, building demolished and replaced by Centrepoint Arcade in 1985-86. Lakes Entrance Victoria
