California Gully Mechanics Institute, California Gully. Black and white photograph featuring brick building with verandah and iron lace. White picket fence in the front of building. Construction commenced in 1861-2. Started as a school and eventually became Mechanics Institute and Free Library 1883 to the 1950s. It is now a public hall and currently managed by the Rotary Club.
