Historical information

Clothing rationing was gazetted in May 1942 and continued until June 1948. It allowed each person 112 coupons per year and each item of clothing had a coupon value. eg. A man's suit was worth 38 coupons and a pair of socks were 4 coupons

Physical description

WW11 Clothing Ration Tickets: On a pink card with blue flecks and black print is a series of small tickets with 1945-6 capital Y and *Clothing* across the front. Each is individually numbered ranging between 1 to 53. On the back is a repetitive capital Y. Box 625
