Historical information

Rochester football club was formed in 1874 specifically to play against the Echuca team. In 1877 it was a foundation member of the VFA. It mainly played informal friendly games against Echuca teams and became part of the Echuca District Football League in 1890. This then became the Norther District fotball League.
