Historical information

First established by Freeman Cobb, an American, and his partners in 1853 in Melbourne. By 1854 there were daily services to Forest Creek and Bendigo. Horses were changed every 10-15 miles.

Diggers & mining. The gold era. Gradually, roads were built, and Cobb and Co., amongst others, established regular coaching services. Markings 41 994.031 GOL:5. Used as a teaching aid.
