Historical information

Track racing commenced at Canterbury Park in 1936. Prior to this racing was held at Epsom and was Plumpton (open field)style racing. At Canterbury Park racing was held over a 340 yard track and up to 20 bookmakers attended. In 1978 the club moved its operations to Lord's Raceway at Junourton.
