Historical information
Although the first recorded burial at Whroo (7 km south of Rushworth) was in 1858, it is believed earlier unrecorded burial took place. The official cemetery was established in 1860 and contains approx. 400 burials although many are unmarked. There is also a Chinese section as in 1863 17% of the population was Chinese in 1863.
